Sunday School

Attention Families with Younger Saints!

Sunday School classes are offered to children and youth aged 2 years – Grade 12, from 10:45-11:45am each week.  We’ve been blessed with a gifted staff eager to help our younger saints grow in Biblical wisdom and knowledge and build Christ centered relationships with their peers. Students will learn about God’s great love for us through His Son, Jesus, through Bible stories, worship and music, videos, discussions, games, and crafts.

Students do not need to register in order to attend.  However, registering young people will help us know whom to expect. Simple registration forms are available from an usher each Sunday or you may complete registration online by using this link. Please complete a separate form for each student.

Any questions may be addressed to Dawn Sundayschool@rlcnn.org or by calling the church office 757-596-5808.

Sunday School classes run from 10:45am – 11:45am.

Key Concepts

  • The Bible is Trustworthy – We can trust all of God’s Word.
  • God’s Attributes – God’s attributes are displayed throughout the Bible.
  • Chronological/Historical Teaching – The Bible presents true history, not just “stories.”
  • The Bible’s Redemption – God’s plan of redemption is woven throughout Scripture.
  • Apologetics – We must be ready to give an answer for what we believe.

HOW CAN I HELP?

That may be the most wonderful sentence ever uttered to a Sunday School Teacher or Administrator! We love to share the joy as well as the hard work it takes to offer quality Christian Education to the young saints of our congregation as well as our visitors. Below is a list of ways you can help in our Sunday School Program:

PRAY!
On a regular basis, lift up our staff members and their families in prayer to the Lord. Ask for God’s protection on their health and family life, for His blessing on their weekly presentation of the Gospel, for His leadership and discernment to flourish in their lives. Pray that they will effectively manage their time and commitments to His glory!

 MODEL!
Teach your children and grandchildren to honor and respect their Sunday School teachers and God’s house, the church. Show your desire to grow closer to God by attending Bible Class while they are in Sunday School and make a point to attend worship with your children. Sit next to them in church and participate with eagerness in the worship service. Make family devotions and prayer a daily family activity.

ACT!
Get involved in Sunday School as a Teacher, Teacher Substitute, or Assistant. Give generously to the Sunday School Missions Offering and encourage your children to do the same. Offer to bring in snack or lead a craft in your child’s class. Ask your child’s teacher if there is a classroom item you could provide.
