At Resurrection Lutheran School, our team is committed to creating a nurturing environment where children feel inspired and encouraged to reach their God-given potential. Every member of our school team plays an important role in fostering meaningful relationships with children and families while providing exceptional care and whole child education rooted in Christian values.

As School Director of Resurrection Lutheran School, Melanie Mesick is passionate about creating a Christ-centered environment where children feel supported, encouraged and inspired to reach their full potential. Since joining Resurrection Lutheran School in 2019, she has worked alongside families and our team to provide high-quality early childhood education that nurtures the whole child through faith, academics, social-emotional development and meaningful relationships.

Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Psychology from Christopher Newport University. She is also a certified play therapist and early intervention specialist. Her background includes leadership in Christian education, youth ministry and school administration, giving her a well-rounded perspective on supporting children and partnering with families. She also serves as a Lay Deacon at Large for the Southeastern District of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and contributes to National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) efforts, reflecting her ongoing commitment to excellence in Lutheran education.

Melanie is dedicated to fostering a welcoming school community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
