Our infant childcare program welcomes children from birth through 15 months of age and is designed to nurture the whole child through meaningful relationships, responsive care and age-appropriate learning experiences. As a full-day, year-round Licensed Day Center through the Virginia Department of Education, we offer dependable childcare for working families in a warm, faith-filled environment.

A Whole Child Approach To Infant Childcare

The earliest months of life lay the foundation for lifelong learning. That’s why our infant room focuses on much more than supervision.

Our whole child philosophy supports:

  • Social development through nurturing relationships and positive interactions
  • Emotional development by creating secure attachments and responsive caregiving
  • Faith development through loving care, prayer and Christian values
  • Early academic development with sensory exploration and language-rich experiences
  • Health and nutrition through safe feeding practices and healthy routines
  • Parenting partnerships through open communication and family support

We believe every child deserves access to exceptional infant childcare regardless of financial circumstances. Resurrection Lutheran School proudly serves families from many backgrounds and is a preferred vendor for both military and Virginia state subsidy programs.

Full Time Dependency For Working Parents

Unlike many childcare centers that close for extended school breaks, we remain open year-round with only approximately 15 scheduled closure days annually, including major holidays and a few religious observances around Christmas and Easter. We do not close for spring break, winter break or teacher workdays, providing dependable care when families need it most. Please refer to our school calendar for a complete list of closings.

Learning Begins From Day One

At Resurrection Lutheran School, every part of an infant’s day is designed to support healthy development. While each baby follows their own individualized feeding and sleeping schedule, our caregivers intentionally incorporate learning opportunities throughout the day using the STREAMin3 curriculum. Through nurturing interactions and play-based experiences, infants begin developing communication, motor skills, curiosity and confidence from their very first days in our care.

A typical day is guided by each baby’s unique needs and may include:

  • Individual feedings and nurturing care
  • Infant-led naps and rest time
  • Sensory and provocation activities
  • Storytime and language development
  • Music and movement
  • STREAMin3 exploration
  • Tummy time and gross motor development
  • Indoor play room and outdoor play, weather permitting
  • One-on-one interactions with trusted caregivers

Rather than following a rigid classroom schedule, our teachers respond to each infant’s natural routines while creating meaningful opportunities for learning, exploration and connection. Every cuddle, conversation, song and activity helps build the foundation for lifelong learning and supports the growth of the whole child.

Every infant has their own crib, and crib sharing is never permitted. We provide bedding and maintain strict cleaning and safety standards to create a healthy environment for every child.

Small Class Sizes Make a Big Difference

One of the qualities families appreciate most is our commitment to maintaining classroom sizes below Virginia’s licensed maximums.

Smaller groups in infant childcare allow teachers to:

  • Build stronger relationships with each child
  • Respond quickly to infant needs
  • Provide individualized attention
  • Support developmental milestones
  • Communicate regularly with parents
  • Create a calm, nurturing classroom environment

Depending on enrollment, classrooms may include a lead teacher with one or more classroom aides to ensure your baby receives attentive, responsive care throughout the day.
