Our whole child philosophy guides everything we do. We believe children develop best when their social-emotional well-being, faith, academics, health and nutrition and family relationships are nurtured together. Every classroom is led by caring educators who create meaningful learning experiences using the STREAMin3 curriculum while helping each child build confidence, curiosity and independence.

Our Programs at Resurrection Lutheran School

Resurrection Lutheran School is a full-day, year-round Licensed Day Center through the Virginia Department of Education. We are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing dependable childcare and preschool for working families with only approximately 15 scheduled closure days each year.

We also proudly participate as a preferred provider for military and Virginia state subsidy programs because we believe every child deserves access to exceptional early childhood education.

Whether your child is taking their very first steps or preparing for kindergarten, our programs provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Infant Childcare (0–15 Months)

Your baby’s first year is filled with incredible milestones, and our Infant Childcare program is designed to nurture each one. Our experienced caregivers provide individualized care that follows each infant’s unique feeding, sleeping and developmental schedule.

Rather than expecting babies to adapt to a classroom routine, we adapt to their individual needs. Infants enjoy one-on-one interactions, sensory exploration, music, storytime and age-appropriate STREAMin3 learning experiences that encourage healthy development from the very beginning.

Parents appreciate our safe environment, first aid-certified staff, individualized care and commitment to building strong partnerships with families. Every infant has their own crib, bedding is provided and no crib sharing is permitted.

Toddler Childcare (16–24 Months)

Toddlers are eager to explore, communicate and become more independent. Our Toddler Childcare program encourages children to discover the world around them through purposeful play, guided learning and meaningful relationships.

Children begin building communication skills, confidence, friendships and independence while participating in hands-on STREAMin3 activities that encourage creativity and problem-solving.

We intentionally maintain classroom sizes below Virginia’s licensed maximums, giving teachers more opportunities to provide individualized attention and build lasting connections with every child.

Two-Year-Old Preschool

The transition into preschool is an exciting milestone, and our Two-Year-Old Preschool program helps children build confidence while developing important social, emotional and early academic skills.

Each day combines structured learning with opportunities for creativity, movement and exploration. Children participate in circle time, choice centers, STREAMin3 learning, storytime and outdoor play while developing classroom routines and practicing independence.

We understand that this stage often comes with big emotions, which is why our teachers provide gentle guidance and individualized support during transitions. Families also benefit from a dedicated drop-off area and secure drop-off procedures and an experienced team dedicated to making every child feel safe and welcome.

Children also receive support from our on-site early interventionist when additional developmental guidance may be beneficial.

Pre-K 3 Program

Our Pre-K 3 Program helps children become confident learners by encouraging curiosity, creativity and problem-solving through engaging, hands-on experiences.

Using the STREAMin3 curriculum, teachers guide children through meaningful learning activities that introduce early literacy, math, science and critical thinking in age-appropriate ways. Students also begin participating in formative VKRP and VALLS assessments, allowing teachers to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction to each child’s needs.

Children enjoy a balanced daily routine that includes morning meetings, STREAMin3 exploration, storytime, creative play, outdoor learning and opportunities to build friendships.

Beyond academics, children participate in prayer before meals, weekly chapel and Bible stories in our welcoming environment.

Pre-K 4 Program

Our Pre-K 4 Program prepares children for a successful transition to kindergarten by strengthening academic readiness while continuing to support social-emotional growth, creativity and independence.

Children continue building skills through STREAMin3 while participating in engaging classroom discussions, collaborative projects and early literacy activities. Teachers use formative VKRP and VALLS assessments to help monitor progress and ensure children are developing the skills needed for future success.

By combining meaningful academics with memorable experiences, children leave Pre-K 4 confident, prepared and excited for kindergarten.

Before and After School Care

Learning doesn’t end when the school bell rings. Our Before and After School Care program provides school-age children with a safe, engaging environment before and after the regular school day.

Families appreciate the convenience of bus transportation to and from local schools, while children enjoy meaningful activities that encourage creativity, responsibility and friendships.

Rather than simply supervising students, our program provides opportunities for homework support, creative support, outdoor activities and social interaction. Additionally, our secure campus and caring staff provide parents with peace of mind while giving children a positive place to spend their mornings and afternoons.
