Greening of the Church 2016

‘Twas a fortnight before Christmas, and all through the church

The youth group was stirring and starting their search.

Up to the attic the young folks did speed

To bring down the boxes of Crismons and trees.

Bob Krause in the kitchen was whistling a tune

Covering biscuits with gravy with a bright silver spoon.

Folks gathered for breakfast, enjoying the feast

As the morning sun shone, bright in the East.

Tummies full, workers scattered to conquer their chores,

With laughter and carols – a most joyful corps!

Up went the wreaths, the garland, the trees,

On went the lights; candles lighted with ease!

Banners flew, bows tied, stars hung up so high,

So that all who would enter would want to draw nigh.

Preparing for Christmas – a practice of Advent,

Of hearts turned toward Christ and time very well spent.

Pastor Hank looked around and all heard him say,

“Merry Christmas to all and to all a blessed day!”
